Tell us a bit about yourself?

I am originally from west London, and I’ve lived in east London since 2016. I lived in Brighton for 6 years while I studied my History degree, and then later completed my teacher training, both at the University of Sussex. I have also spent time living in (and enjoyed travelling around) both Spain and Australia, teaching English to adults. I enjoy working with others and am passionate about improving education and career outcomes for all young people.

Where did you work before The Switch?

Before joining The Switch, I worked in the Careers and Social Mobility team at Tower Hamlets Council. There I organised events such as careers fairs, CV writing workshops and industry insight days, supporting young people aged 5 – 25 to gain work experience and improve their employability skills.

Prior to that, I worked as a secondary school teacher and leader in schools in Newham, Tower Hamlets and West Sussex for 8 years. During that time, I taught History, Sociology and PSHE, with responsibility for PSHE and Careers Education.

What are you most looking forward to working at The Switch?

I am looking forward to working more closely with a committed, driven, and passionate team of individuals, as well as the talented and hard-working careers leaders, students and business volunteers in Tower Hamlets. I am eager to attend some of The Switch’s exciting primary and secondary programmes to learn more about the vital work that the charity does, as well as getting stuck into activities alongside the team to create new opportunities and deliver programmes that have a positive impact for both students and business volunteers.

Any hobbies?

I enjoy cooking, Zumba, reading, and going to see live music and comedy. I occasionally go running very slowly.

🔗Meet the rest of the team.
