Tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello! I’m Jemima and I am covering the role of Project Lead for Primary Schools whilst Rachel is on maternity leave! I am returning to work after my own maternity leave; my son Barnaby is nearly 11 months old, crawling everywhere and – finally!- sleeping through the night!
Where did you work before The Switch?
Before starting at The Switch, I had been a teacher and cover supervisor in two London primary schools for nine years. In my last role, I helped run the ‘Health and Wellbeing’ project Leyton Orient Football Club delivered as part of their CSR programme, which was great fun!
What are you looking forward to working at The Switch?
I am really excited about starting at The Switch and having an impact on a greater number of students all across Tower Hamlets!
Any hobbies?
I love hiking and a couple of years ago climbed Mount Fuji! When at home, I enjoy cooking and reading and walking around Epping Forest!
What is one thing you have learnt over the last few years of adversity?
I thought about this long and hard and I think I would say that I’ve learnt to be more resilient- it was scary not knowing what was happening with Covid but I still went into work every day to look after the children who were in and learning quickly how to change my teaching style to online teaching- and rolling with the punches!
