This month we welcomed Nicola Chadwick to team THEBP as our new Project Manager in our Learn More team. As the team is still working from home, we asked Nicola some questions to help the team and everyone else learn a little bit more about her.
Tell us a bit about yourself?
Hello, I am Nicola, I’m from Harrogate, North Yorkshire and I currently live in Clapham Junction. I moved to London in November 2019 and have spent most of my London life living in lockdown! Before that, I lived in Hong Kong for five years.
Where did you work before THEBP?
Before joining the THEBP, I worked for an education company in London helping international students prepare for UK education by recommending tuition solutions and giving online tuition to help build their confidence before moving to a UK school. Before that, I was a manager of an education company in Hong Kong which ran lots of different education programmes.
What are you looking forward to working at THEBP?
I am looking forward to getting students excited about the world of work and broadening their aspirations. I am eager to get exciting projects up and running and seeing them come to life in schools.
Any hobbies?
My hobbies have certainly increased since lockdown! I love cooking and have expanded my repertoire of veggie dishes. On an evening, I play boardgames with the house which can get quite competitive as we have a tightly contested leaderboard up on the wall. I’m a big reader and am currently reading this month’s book for THEBP book club. I love hiking and am looking forward to doing the 3 peaks in post-lockdown.
What is one thing you have learnt during this very strange year?
I have learnt to explore what’s on my doorstep. As I moved to Clapham Junction just a few weeks before lockdown, I didn’t really know the area and I previously spent my weekends travelling around London, so it was great to explore my local area and discover parks, walks and good coffee shops.
Welcome again to Nicola and we hope she enjoys working with the team here at Tower Hamlets Education Business Partnership!
